Garage Sale for Joseph


This is a REMINDER about the benefit garage sell in behalf Joseph Runyan (Abby & Todd's son) who has autism. It is going to be Friday the 14th & Saturday the 15th. It's being held at the Neilson's house (Joseph's grandma - across the street from Mesa High). Last night my sewing group hosted a "Sew for Joseph" Night. We made aprons for adults & kids in fall and Christmas fabrics. Thank you to all those ladies donating their time & talents for this cause. Aprons make great Christmas gifts! Thank you as well to everyone who has made a donations or dropped stuff by. I have received numerous phone calls & donations from our neighbors & friends.
Abby says, "THANK YOU so much it really means so much to me and my family. It's going to be a great sale with lots of great stuff ( things from Decor Unique too) so don't forget to come and check it out." We will have a table set up with all the aprons on it. Also, if you have anything at all to donate, now is a good time to clean out before the holidays get here and Joseph is the best cause. Even if you think your stuff isn't worth anything, a dollar or quarter is better then nothing. Please call me if you need any bulky items picked up. Feel free to leave your stuff in my carport. There are quite a few bags out there already. Or if you want me to pick up a bag of clothes, toys, whatever. Again, thank everyone for being a part of this. And tell your friends & neighbors to come & shop!

They actually did very well. I talked to Abby and she said that she only expected to bring in a moderate sum for both days. They superceded her expectations the 1st day and our group sold all but 2 aporns. There was so much stuff there on Saturday and she said they had sold at least a few times over the day before. Thanks again Everyone!!

Abbey loves jumping out of the tub and streaking through the house every chance she can get. I found her in the bathroom brushing her teeth on such an occasion. Paige spent a Saturday with achievement day girls at the church. They did mini-classes and held a luncheon.  Paige came home wearing this cute banner that said "Miss Fabulous" - she had a goodie bag, a rose, and a pretty picture they had taken of her in a crown. What a gorgeous princess! A few days later we had a princess day. Actually once a week we have boys/girls day. Where the kids get a play date. These girls got all dolled up. They had a blast. our baby has "indoor plumbing"

The nice thing about my Thursday appointment was knowing the end was in sight. Sunday morning 5:30am I was scheduled to be induced. So we cleaned our house like mad on Saturday and my kids spent the night at their grandparents. We were up and ready to go. Paige drew me this picture before we left. Right to left: New baby, me, nightstand with cookies & candy (does my daughter know me or what?) When we got there - I needed some serious help to get ready to have the baby. I was dilated to a 2 and my cervix was really thick. So they gave me some internal gels that caused me to contract, I went through a series of 2, which means 5 hours of hell. It hurt & was a crappy 5 hours - but then my best friend came along, the anesthesiologist and gave me the epidural. Then they started the pitosum , which caused additional labor to set on... a Christmas wish answered... come September

So anyone who hasn't heard yet... yes. The Buchanan's are going to have a baby come this September. I'm not sure how it happened (yeah. I get the mechanics... I do have 2 kids) - But it's just that Jason & I don't really see too much of each other and after an exausting day of work, school, being on call, preschool, doing homework, research for thesis, paying bills, sewing group, YW, and kids, all you really have energy for is sleep. So I really think I give credit to Paige for this one. She has put in countless hours praying, wishing, and begging for a baby for the longest time. All her hard work millions of wishes on stars and countless letters to Santa apparently paid off. (She's got a lot of clout with the bearded fella - so if you want something for next year you might want to bribe her early to include it in her letter(s)). That's it... I'm eight weeks and thrilled. We'll keep praying that everything goes smoothly & the baby is heal
