is preschool ready for James Buchanan?

James starts preschool today!! Actually it was an open house/meet the teacher day. This is his first year flying solo (yeah!) He has done preschool at Miss Maren's Monkeys for the last 2 years and he has been so desperate since Paige started back up that I figured it was time for him to branch out on his own (actually I decided last year when he was driving me bonkers). He goes to an elementary school 3 days a week for 2 hours. The cool thing is our little friend Elle will be in his class as well. I've had her for 2 years of preschool, so he's got one friend ready made.

Mrs. Johnson has 24 years experience teaching preschool & so I think she will be able to handle my special blend of snakes, snails & puppy dog tails - that we lovingly call James. She does have 25 kids to contend with so my hat is off to her. I only have 6 this year and I'm just about spent.

Wow I didn't think he was that old. I wish you lived closer. I need a preschool teacher! I'm going to do preschool myself. It's hard having two in the same grade. How are you feeling? I hope you doing good!!!

Hey Maren - I found your blog through facebook. Hooray! How can you possibly have a first grader. And James looks a touch like his dad. Have you ever found yourself saying this: "James - what's in the dryer?" "Nobody." I am sure the day is coming...

That sound like so much fun. I am usually in that area throughout the week. I take my first (very needed) lesson tomorrow so hopefully after that I will be more prepared to start up some fun projects.

The nice thing about my Thursday appointment was knowing the end was in sight. Sunday morning 5:30am I was scheduled to be induced. So we cleaned our house like mad on Saturday and my kids spent the night at their grandparents. We were up and ready to go. Paige drew me this picture before we left. Right to left: New baby, me, nightstand with cookies & candy (does my daughter know me or what?) When we got there - I needed some serious help to get ready to have the baby. I was dilated to a 2 and my cervix was really thick. So they gave me some internal gels that caused me to contract, I went through a series of 2, which means 5 hours of hell. The final chapter of the Buchanan saga

It's official - we heard the heartbeat on Wednesday - this is the cause of my nauseated state of being 24/7. There is actually a little peanut causing all this havoc on my body. Everything seems to be going really well. My progesterone levels were low so they put me on a supplement and I'm trying to live with the side effects while Jason claims there are no big changes (I always break out crying, right? - ha, ha, ha) Actually, it does have a slew of side effects, but I seem to be affected by 3: sleepiness, irritability, and anxiety. Serious anxiety over the littlest dumbest things (makes me crazy) and it sucks that my one good quality (patience) is in short supply. Yesterday during preschool my kids were looking at me like 'why does she think she has to bribe us for every little thing?' - please, please, please put your shoes on, I will give you an m&m - come on just help pick up, I will give you and m&m - poor things. Apron and book giveaway (guess who made the freaking cute apron)

So we are hosting our first FREE giveaway on the SSC (Secret Stitch Club) site, which I am a proud member of. The author of the book featured below gave us a free copy to give away... (she's kind of a celeb in the apron blogosphere subculture). Anyway, what I'm more excited about is the stink'n cute apron I made to giveaway with the book. This is our first combined project and launching point for Christie, Jill & I, (we will hopefully be opening an Etsy site next month to sell these suckers for actual money)   Okay so one reason I love this apron is that it is green .
