useless facts your probably better off not knowing about me

Image
I hate these damn things - but after reading my sister-in-law Ashley's I had to do it. It made me laugh and if I can get any of you to laugh at me even for a minute then it's worth it. The picture is of me & Kelly (my BFF) as kids in the Strawberry Shortcake bedroom, I'm the one that closely resembles her pajama's. 1. What time did you get up this morning? 7:10 (Jason said I had to get up, someone has to get my 5 year old to school) 2. Diamonds or pearls? neither. I like colored stones better. 3. What was the last film you saw at the movies? P.S. I Love You (only person with dry eyes in the theatre - my heart is ice cold) 4. What is your favorite show? I miss cable for HGTV - but I'm addicted to LOST & Dallas Season 8 was released a few days ago. Yeeee-ha! 5. What do you eat for breakfast? Coco-roos & choked down a prenatal vitamin 6. What is your middle name? Annette (like my mother-in-law) This is my beautiful Paige, Me, & my moth...

don't let the bed bugs bite

Image
This what I found outside my bedroom door about 11 pm last night. James has never been a good sleeper. 6pm naps, waking up at 5 some mornings, rarely staying in his bed for the entire night, actually sleeping through the night is pretty much unheard of... that's my difficult sleeper. But moments like these... I wouldn't trade him for the best sleeper. He is my James and I just figure I will train him to get up with the baby and Jason & I can get a good nights sleep for once.

goofy golfing with 3 goofballs

Image
Last week we decided to have a family day and took the kids "goofy golfing" at Sun Splash. It was a lot of fun. More so then I would have guessed. It's funny because you always think your kids are too young to do certain activites until you take them and realize it was perfect. I love that this shot looks like a PGA serious moment. We had James constantly trying to steal our balls from us and Paige who was determined to make it in the hole even if it took her 500 shots. She was so serious and cute about it. The course was pretty busy and we had some wait time and people shooting right behind us. We had to be quick on our feet to keep James from stealing their balls or messing up their shots. We had a couple behind us on a blind date. They guy knocked his ball off the course and I grabbed it and went to hand it back to him, thinking he might want to restart the shot - I was just short of being reprimanded for touching his ball. How dare I? And yet I don't really wond...

a Christmas wish answered... come September

Image
So anyone who hasn't heard yet... yes. The Buchanan's are going to have a baby come this September. I'm not sure how it happened (yeah. I get the mechanics... I do have 2 kids) - But it's just that Jason & I don't really see too much of each other and after an exausting day of work, school, being on call, preschool, doing homework, research for thesis, paying bills, sewing group, YW, and kids, all you really have energy for is sleep. So I really think I give credit to Paige for this one. She has put in countless hours praying, wishing, and begging for a baby for the longest time. All her hard work millions of wishes on stars and countless letters to Santa apparently paid off. (She's got a lot of clout with the bearded fella - so if you want something for next year you might want to bribe her early to include it in her letter(s)). That's it... I'm eight weeks and thrilled. We'll keep praying that everything goes smoothly & the baby is heal...

Don't worry I kep ' it all to me self... arrrgghh . * Check out Miss Maren's blog for more pirate adventures and a mini pirate movie: http://missmarensmonkeys.blogspot.com/

Paige's Tea Party

Image
Paige has been begging me for the longest time to have a Tea Party . I thought that since they were out of school for MLK day and in the spirit of peace and good will towards men (or mothers & daughters) that I would grant her wish . It was also a good excuse to keep her busy and play with some friends that she doesn't see very often. She planned the events and even showed up in her best Tea Party attire, but was less helpful in cleaning her room, making the snacks, and cleaning up afterwards ( infact I felt more like Cinderella who missed the fun of the carefree ball) at least I had a great helper (thanks Asia!). Paige decided that each of her guests needed a princess tiara, jewelry , & makeup . So when the loverly little ladies arrived, they either came lavishly adorned or got to pick out of our dress up box. Hair was done, and makeup (not so sparingly adorned) each pretty girl along with a generous proportion of body glitter on every last inch of skin from cuff...
