McMillan Time

So... I have to give credit where credit is do. I thought I was computer savvy until I met my friend Christie. She makes me look like the Paris Hilton of computers (ummm. so this is like a keyboard? it's so hot.) This is far removed from where I used to see myself, that is, right up there with Trekkie's & Star Wars dorks (that is meant to be a compliment - no hate mail yet please. I just started this blasted thing.) Anyway, she designed my header. I chose the Halloween theme. But she rocks. Not me. She just makes me look good. Here is a quiz? Can anyone tell me where the background on the header comes from? (Christie you can't answer.) I will be so impressed.
Anyway, to start things off right (with this blastedblog). My friends (Christie & her husband Kevin) went on a date Sat night and we were fortunate enough to watch their kids. It felt like a party, and only intensified when they came to pick them up. Little did they know that I had indulgently handing out candy all night. As you can tell by their somewhat crazed expressions. Here is a video clip of Kevin with James & Cade (James very best buddy)... They are so cute together. And other crazy pics. So much fun.

Kevin says that we should probably consider joint custody of each others kids, they get along so well. And obviously Myla and Cade L-O-V-E you guys. Thanks for watching them and being so entertaining. And thanks, Jason, for teaching us "The Ceiling Fan" trick. We've done it a several times since you done learned us. :)

Maren, yea for the blog!!! So exciting. I know what you are thinking, "I've gotta get this dumb blog up so Christie will just shut up about it." Well I'm shutting. :)

Welcome Maren...it is so good to have over on the dark-side of blogging! I can't wait to read all about the adventures of the Buchanan clan! And my guess for the header is The Nightmare Before Christmas, am I right? Or is that newer movie, The Corpses Bride? You didn't say I had to get it right the first time to make you impressed! Anyways, congrats on the new blog and I thin we are all better bloggers because of Christie...yahoo for Christie!

Jill, the characters are from TNBC. I don't even know if you can see the wallpaper behind it, but that's okay because I know it is there. This is what I feared. It's almost 1am & I'm blogging.

It's about FREAKING time!!! Seriously! And of course you have the cutest heading, way to go Christie! I'm suprised you didn't do a Disney theme. The nice thing about my Thursday appointment was knowing the end was in sight. Sunday morning 5:30am I was scheduled to be induced. So we cleaned our house like mad on Saturday and my kids spent the night at their grandparents. We were up and ready to go. Paige drew me this picture before we left. Right to left: New baby, me, nightstand with cookies & candy (does my daughter know me or what?) When we got there - I needed some serious help to get ready to have the baby. I was dilated to a 2 and my cervix was really thick. So they gave me some internal gels that caused me to contract, I went through a series of 2, which means 5 hours of hell. It hurt & was a crappy 5 hours - but then my best friend came along, the anesthesiologist and gave me the epidural. Then they started the pitosum , which caused additional labor to set on... Sunday's child...

Gavin or Abbey ? Barring any miracles... our new baby is scheduled to arrive on Sept 21st - not sure the approximate time. But this would make Buchanan Baby #3 a Sunday's child. I always liked the days of the week child poem and it will be interesting to see if it plays out with the personality of our new addition. Does it apply to the already established members of our family? Monday's child is fair of face. Tuesday's child is full of grace. Wednesday's child is full of woe. Thursday's child has far to go. a Christmas wish answered... come September

So anyone who hasn't heard yet... yes. The Buchanan's are going to have a baby come this September. I'm not sure how it happened (yeah. I get the mechanics... I do have 2 kids) - But it's just that Jason & I don't really see too much of each other and after an exausting day of work, school, being on call, preschool, doing homework, research for thesis, paying bills, sewing group, YW, and kids, all you really have energy for is sleep. So I really think I give credit to Paige for this one. She has put in countless hours praying, wishing, and begging for a baby for the longest time. All her hard work millions of wishes on stars and countless letters to Santa apparently paid off. (She's got a lot of clout with the bearded fella - so if you want something for next year you might want to bribe her early to include it in her letter(s)). That's it... I'm eight weeks and thrilled. We'll keep praying that everything goes smoothly & the baby is heal...
